    Building on our strengths in engineering with artificial intelligence and data science, the College of Engineering at the University of Iowa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence or related areas in either the department of Industrial and Systems Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering to begin in the Fall of 2022. The rank of assistant professor is targeted, but all ranks will be considered. 

    Candidates advancing any area related to data analytics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence will be considered, including the advancement of theory, the development of methods, or the applications of these technologies. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research align with current research thrusts on campus, including healthcare, neuroscience, climate science, genomics, hydroscience, computational simulations, smart manufacturing, and automated driving. 

    Successful candidates will: 

    • have a PhD in industrial engineering, electrical & computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, 
    • be committed to fostering an inclusive climate that values and engages diversity in its many forms, and 
    • be committed to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including introductory undergraduate software engineering courses.
