Tenured/tenure-track faculty positions at iDDA of  The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen
The Institute for Data and Decision Analytics (iDDA) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, was established in March 2018 as a "tenure-home" academic unit of the university, aiming at becoming a world-class research and educational center. Now iDDA is inviting extraordinarily qualified candidates to fill multiple tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at all academic ranks.
We seek applicants with outstanding methodological foundations in one or more of the following areas: Operations Research, Statistics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Management Science, and other closely related areas. We especially encourage individuals whose interests and backgrounds are at the intersection of multiple areas to apply. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field and have a demonstrated interest in real-world applications. The ability to teach effectively, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels to diverse groups of students, is required of all applicants. Junior applicants must demonstrate a clear and high potential to enhance research and educational missions of iDDA. Senior applicants must have a well-established record of research and teaching accomplishments and have demonstrated scientific creativity and leadership with externally funded and highly visible research programs.
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK(SZ)) combines the educational philosophy and academic systems of The Chinese University of Hong Kong with those of top research universities overseas. CUHK(SZ) offers competitive faculty packages at a level comparable to those from leading universities around the world. In addition, Shenzhen, a vibrant city located next to Hong Kong and Macau, offers various financial packages for qualified candidates. Held as a core value, iDDA is deeply committed to helping its faculty succeed; in particular, it will strive to create a nurturing environment for the growth of its junior faculty members.
All application packages should include a cover letter (that specifies the rank of position sought), a curriculum vitae, a research statement and a teaching statement. In addition, applicants for assistant professor positions should arrange for three reference letters directly sent to iDDA from recognized scholars in their areas. Application materials and reference letters should be sent to the email address: talent4idda@cuhk.edu.cn.
The deadline for ensuring full consideration of applications is October 24, 2018, but the positions will remain open, and applications may still be considered until appointments are made. More information about iDDA can be found at its website http://idda.cuhk.edu.cn/en
