    Position Title:

     

    Visiting Faculty – Operations / Information Systems / Business Analytics

     

    Unit Mission Statement:

     

    The mission of the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary is to serve the Commonwealth, the nation, and the global community both by offering high-quality educational programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels and by creating and communicating new knowledge.

     

    Position Summary:

     

    The OISM area at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary is recruiting a pool of visiting faculty to conduct research and teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the undergraduate and graduate programs. The expected term of the visit is one semester, but an academic year visitor may be possible. To be eligible, interested persons must hold the rank of associate professor or full professor (or equivalent) at their current institution and have a well-established research record.

     

    William and Mary is a premier liberal arts university, chartered in 1693, and has long been considered one of the "Public Ivies." The graduate business school has been recognized as a "Top-50" school by Business Week, the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal. The College is situated in historic Williamsburg, Virginia and is within an hour's drive of Richmond, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach. Washington DC is within three hour's drive.     Visiting faculty serve a vital role within the OISM area and are valued members of the Raymond A. Mason School of Business and the William & Mary community. Under the guidance of the Area Head, visiting faculty collaborate on research with area faculty and teach 2 courses (6 credits) within the OISM area during the semester.

     

    Required Qualifications

     

    Please make sure your cover letter and CV clearly indicate how you meet the following required qualifications:

     

    ·       PhD degree in business analytics, computer science, industrial engineering, information systems, information technology, operations management, operations research, or a closely related field.

    ·       Current rank of Associate or Full Professor (or equivalent).

    ·       Expertise and relevant professional and/or instructional experience in business analytics, computer science, industrial engineering, information systems, information technology, operations management, operations research, or a closely related field.

    ·       Previous experience providing instruction to adult learners in an academic or corporate setting.

    ·       Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills.

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    ·       Demonstrated excellence in research.

    ·       Demonstrated excellence in teaching.

    ·       Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.  

    ·       Computer proficiency and experience using Blackboard.
