    ============================================
    Dear colleagues,

    The Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS) is known worldwide as one of the longest-standing working scientific conferences in Information Technology Management. HICSS provides a highly interactive working environment for top scholars from academia and industry from over 60 countries to exchange ideas in various areas of information, computer, and system sciences. Papers published in HICSS proceedings have been cited extensively for many years, across a spectrum of disciplines.

    We are excited to share that Location Intelligence is a special area of focus at HICSS-54 (January 5-8, 2021, Kauai, Hawaii). For the first time in HICSS history, there will be an inaugural track on Location Intelligence. In addition, Esri Founder and President Jack Dangermond will be the featured conference keynote speaker.

    We encourage you to consider this unique opportunity to showcase your research on GIS, Location Analytics, and related topics at HICSS-54, in the Location Intelligence track. The goal of this invited track is to highlight the use and potential of location analytics in a range of areas, including but not limited to

    • Spatial Business: spatial analyses in business functions, including marketing, customer relations, operations, logistics, supply chain, asset and risk management
    • Spatial Health and Healthcare: spatial analyses that address locational dimensions of health and delivery of healthcare.
    • Sustainability and Climate Change: spatial dimensions of environmental sustainability and climate change.
    • Industry Clusters and Community Development: spatial aspects of economic development and community impacts, including infrastructure, workforce, environmental impacts, and social inequalities.
    • Emergency Management and Public Safety: locational intelligence and decision-making in crises and emergencies including the COVID-19 Crisis.
    • Location Analytics for Spatial Big Data: Big data analyses in emerging areas of space-time modeling, spatial analytics, geography of the sharing economy, and social media.
    • Spatial Theory, Concepts and Methods: Analyses that explore innovative approaches to advancing spatial theory, concepts, and methods.
    • Locational Data Privacy and Security: Research on the issues and problems of locational data privacy and security.
    • Industry Trends and Developments: Perspectives and research geospatial industry trends, industry impacts for Location analytics, educational and training developments

    Paper submission deadline is JULY 15, 2020.

    Please see the HICSS website for more information on the location intelligence track and submission guidelines.

    As mentioned at the HICSS-54 website: "All papers accepted to HICSS will be published in the proceedings, even though not all papers will be presented as a result of those of you who cannot be in person in Kauai due to ongoing health concerns and travel restrictions related to COVID-19."
