    Opportunity: The Information Systems (IS) department at Boston University's Questrom School of Business invites applications for its PhD program from motivated and intellectually curious candidates. Applicants should have a prior degree in Computer Science, Economics, Business, or Engineering (such as ECE and Industrial Engineering). Work experience is desirable. A research interest in technology, business, and society is essential. Questrom provides PhD students with a generous stipend and tuition support for five years. Additional funding is also available to support research and conference travel.

    Faculty: Our outstanding faculty conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of IS and Economics, Machine Learning, and Network Science. We have global experts in platform economics and online reputation systems. We organize the leading conference on Platform Strategy research. Committed to research excellence, our department also features a vibrant seminar series, featuring top scholars from related fields. These seminars create great collaboration opportunities for our faculty and students.

    Placement: PhD students from our group have joined tenure track professorial positions at top programs world wide. Our students have won best paper awards at flagship conferences and workshops, including Conference in Information Systems and Technology (CIST) and Workshop on Information Technologies and Systems (WITS).
