    The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Mathematical Data Science, to start August 2022. The minimum qualifications are:

    • A Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences, statistical sciences, or a related field
    • Expertise in:
      • Data Science topics such as machine learning/AI, big data, computer vision, data mining, and data-driven modeling.
      • One or more complementary research areas such as Probability, Uncertainty Quantification, Statistics, Stochastic Processes, Numerical Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics/Network Analysis, and Optimization.

     

    The successful candidate should have research and teaching interests in data science, demonstrated potential for excellence in research, and a strong commitment to quality teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Preference will be given to candidates who have the potential for attracting external research funding.

     

    The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong independent research program, supervise graduate and undergraduate student research, teach courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level, and provide service to the Department, University, and professional organizations. The regular teaching load is 4 courses per year, which may be reduced for an initial period.
