We are excited to announce a special issue of Networks arising from the June 2017 Route Optimization/Vehicle Routing (ROVER) workshop held in Warsaw, Poland.
Four of the papers in this special issue focus on the development of new methodologies for vehicle routing problems: those dealing with multi-objective routing, routing with time windows, the use of continuum approximation approaches, and dynamic route planning for same-day delivery problems.
In addition, this issue contains three innovative applications of vehicle routing: a team orienteering approach to phlebotomist intrahospital routing, congestion pricing and its environmental effects, and the use of combinatorial auctions for enhancing carrier collaboration.
We trust that the readership of INFORMS will find these contributions to be of interest.
