The Center for Energy, Environmental, and Economic System Analysis at Argonne National Laboratory (http://ceeesa.es.anl.gov) is looking to hire interns for summer 2020 with strong capabilities in operations research and an interest in power systems engineering and energy economics.

The interns will work on a range of projects within energy and power systems. Potential projects include: analyzing how existing and proposed market design elements can address emerging challenges in power system operations and planning, optimizing the integration of renewable energy into the bulk power system, the role of energy storage and electric vehicle integration in power systems (transmission and distribution level), and development and application of new algorithms for weather and energy data analytics.

Interns will be expected to perform independent research, must have good scientific writing skills, and should be currently enrolled in an advanced degree program in engineering, operations research, mathematics, computer science or another comparable technical field. Postdoctoral candidates who anticipate completion of their Ph.D. prior to summer 2020 will also be considered.

Interested applicants should send their CV directly to Todd Levin, tlevin@anl.gov. We will be meeting with candidates at the upcoming INFORMS Annual Meeting in Seattle, please specify if you will be attending and are also available to meet at that time.
