    The Department of Business and Administration at the University of Winnipeg is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Healthcare Analytics. The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research under the supervision of Dr. Farzad Zaerpour. The postdoctoral fellow must have interest and expertise in working with large healthcare data sets. In addition to data analytics skills, the postdoctoral fellow should have methodological expertise in one or more operations research domains, such as decision analysis/theory, simulation, optimization, and machine learning. The postdoctoral fellow will also have the opportunity to teach a course in our Master in Management (MiM) program. This would be a separate appointment and would be subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Contract Academic Staff collective agreement.

    The appointment is for a two-year term starting on September 1, 2021, or as soon as possible.


    • Must hold a Ph.D. in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, or a related discipline.
    • Must have strong skills in stochastic modeling and statistical analysis.
    • Must have a good working knowledge of computer programming.
    • Must have a depth and breadth of methodological expertise, healthcare domain knowledge, publication quality and quantity, and grant writing experience.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
