    The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in the area of Operations Management and Statistics. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, with an expected start date of July 1, 2020.

    Applicants must have a PhD degree, with a specialization in Operations, Statistics, or related disciple by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter.  We seek enthusiastic and innovative individuals pursuing an award-winning career in university teaching, whose teaching interests complement and strengthen our
    existing strengths.  Applicants must have a demonstrated record of excellent teaching, a commitment to excellence in pedagogical practices and teaching innovation, and an interest in teaching-related scholarly activities in the areas of operations, data analytics, and statistics.


    The successful applicant will demonstrate mastery of their subject area and will possess a strong demonstrated ability to integrate theory and practice through effective communication and presentation skills to stimulate and challenge the intellectual capacity of students. Candidates must have teaching expertise in a degree granting program, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and development of online material/lectures. Experience in teaching both undergraduate and graduate students in a management program, and in organizing project-based activities, is desirable.

    Excellence in teaching and pedagogical practices can be demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, awards and accolades, presentations at significant conferences, the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application (which should include excellent course evaluations, a coherent teaching statement linked to evidence of excellent pedagogical practice, and sample syllabi and course materials), as well as strong endorsements by referees of high international standing, reflecting on both excellent teaching and evidence of commitment to pedagogical enquiry and teaching innovation.

    The successful applicant may be expected to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate level courses in the areas of operations, data analytics and statistics, contribute to the ongoing improvement of the curriculum, and facilitate linkages with the business community.
