    Dear Colleagues,

    I am happy to announce the Finalists selected by the Academic Committee of the M&SOM Practice-Based Research Competition earlier this week, as well as their presentation schedule this coming Monday, June 7 as part of the MSOM Annual Meeting hosted virtually by Indiana University:

    Monday, June 7 (all times EDT)

    Session A

    8:30 am - 9:00 am: Demand Learning and Dynamic Pricing for Varying Assortments by Ferreira and Mower

    9:00 am - 9:30 am: Estimating Personalized Demand with Unobserved No-purchases using a Mixture Model: An Application in the Hotel Industry by Pekgun, Cho, Ferguson and Vakhutinsky

    9:30 am - 10:00 am: Redesigning Sample Transportation in Malawi Through Improved Data Sharing and Daily Route Optimization by Jonasson, Deo, Gibson, Kachule and Palamountain

    Session B

    10:30 am - 11:00 am: Ancillary Services in Targeted Advertising: from Prediction to Prescription by Perakis, Borenstein, Mangal, Poninghaus, Singhvi, Skali Lami and Wei Lua

    11:00 am - 11:30 am: Improving Match Rates in Dating Markets through Assortment Optimization by Rios, Saban and Fanvin

    11:30 am - 12:00 pm: Incentivizing Commuters to Carpool: A Large Field Experiment with Waze by Cohen, Fiszer, Ratzon and Sasson

    The format for these time slots will be 19 minutes of presentations by the authors followed by 11 minutes of questions first by the Industry Judge Panel and then (if time permit) by other attendees. The access instructions for these sessions are as follows:

    The conference organizers kindly set up these sessions as public events accessible with no conference registration to facilitate attendance by colleagues from industry. Because of a conflict of interest, these sessions and ensuing final deliberations by the Industry Judge Panel will be chaired by Pr. Turgay Ayer, serving as Co-Chair for the competition.
