We have the great pleasure of inviting you to participate at AMASES 2021 conference (the annual conference of the Italian Association for Mathematics Applied to Social and Economic Science) and submit a paper to our organized session. At AMASES 2021 there will be:

§  Plenary Sessions (Invited Speakers, "Best Paper Award" Special Session, General Assembly) organized in remote mode by the DIGIES of the University of Reggio Calabria on September 13th-14th, 2021

§  "Distributed" Parallels Sessions organized in remote mode by the willing members on September 13th-18th, 2021

As in the AMASES established tradition, the purpose of the meeting is to stimulate discussion among scholars and practitioners, from Italy and all around the world, on different aspects of Mathematics applied to Economic and Social Sciences. Attending the event is free (for more info, please visit https://www.amases.org/annual-conference-2021-home/).

In our session on "Mathematical methods for sustainability challenges", we welcome papers presenting new theoretical developments, mathematical models and innovative empirical applications to tackle sustainability challenges. Topics include, but are not limited to, mathematical methods tackling the assessment of the three pillars of Sustainable Development: People (social sustainability), Planet (environmental sustainability) and Prosperity (economic sustainability). Theoretical and methodological challenges in understanding the determinants of sustainable development in key sectors (e.g., education, health, justice, water and sanitation, waste, energy, or others) will be welcome too.

    Dear Best Friends,

    dear Giovanna and dear Rossana,

    thank you so much!

I would love to participate at your conference and stream.  Unfortunately, it overlaps with 2 duties which I will have in this time window.

Would you please send to me CfP (without big technical extras) as a text in an e-mail window and perhaps in a picture (poster or so) with the main data?

    Warm regards,

    best wishes, God bless,

    Willi

    Dear Willi,

Rossana (in Cc) and I are organizing a stream on "Mathematical Methods for sustainability challenges" within the Annual Meeting of the Italian Association for Mathematics Applied to Economic and Social Sciences (AMASES) in September 13-18, 2021 (https://www.amases.org/annual-conference-2021-parallel/).

First, we would be more than happy if you would like to participate!

Then, given the topic, we thought it would be great to disseminate the call for paper of our special issue along with the call for abstract of the stream.

Do you think it is a good idea or shall we wait for the IFORS conference first?

    Best wishes,

    Giovanna

    Dear great friends,

    thank you so much!

May I please suggest one of us - perhaps dear Simon or dear Ana - could send to us all the Last (and refreshed) Version (with no correction mode activated) -

so that with dear Elise's possible approval, dear Bernard could send it to Seoul for the homepage,

where it could go as well at Elsevier's site, and at some very nice lists and pages (IFORS, INFORMS, EURO, etc.)?

    If you wish and allow.

    Warm regards,

    best wishes,

    Dear All,

    Dear Simon,

Thanks for this information on APC being paid by IFORS. It is a very generous contribution to the success of this special issue!

I suggest mentioning Article Processing Charge (APC) in the added sentence, as some authors may possibly not be familiar with the acronym.

    Thanks!

    Best wishes,

    Ana

Dear Simon, thank you so much! Very good indeed.

not anticipating dear Elise's and the friends' replies, I would be glad if the CfP could go online at Elsevier and also at IFORS 2021 homepage

(maybe with the corrector mode inactivated then).

    With best wises,

    kind regards,

    Hello all,

Thank you for the email, and this great special issue and the support for SAM. The attached document looks great, I have added the standard text about the APC being paid by IFORS and the update version is attached.

If there is no further changes we can arrange to have this set up in the system for submissions, hosted on the website and promoted via marketing. Please let me know if fine to move ahead.

    Many thanks,

    Simon

    Dear Professor Elise,

Thank you so much for the positive feedback on the call for papers.

We are looking forward to this opportunity of collaboration with Sustainability Analytics and Modeling Journal!

Concerning the deadlines, we moved the submission deadline to the end of this year (31 December) and adjusted all other deadlines accordingly. The final notice of acceptance is scheduled to the beginning of August, such that the special issue could come out eventually in the Summer 2021. Is this appropriate? Please find attached the revised call for papers for your appreciation.

We remain available to make all necessary adjustments to align the call for papers with your expectations and Elsevier's requirements.

Thank you very much for your support to this special issue!

    Best regards,

    Ana

Dear Willi, Ana, Giovanna, Rossana and Dakpo,

Wow! This is fantastic! You all thought of nearly every detail. Super impressive. I'm thinking of 2 things we need to do to get it ready to post.

    1. Would you all consider moving all the deadlines up 2-3 months? Would this be too soon? I'm worried that it will be out there for too long and some people whose papers are ready for submission would need to wait a long time for the issue to come out. They might try submitting elsewhere first.

    2. I'm looping in Simon from Elsevier: Simon - can you please help us with language related to the fee being waived in this year - an open access but IFORS is paying statement? Also, do we need to tweak the submission directions that are included in the flier? Are they accurate for how the system will work? Finally, how do we post this?

    Best to you all,

    Elise
