    Dear Colleagues:

    We are pleased to announce four finalists for the 2019 INFORMS QSR best student paper competition. This year we received 38 high-quality student papers. Each paper is evaluated by multiple reviewers. Based on the reviewers' inputs, four finalists were selected as follows.

    • Zhen Zhong from Georgia Institute of Technology for the paper entitled "Image-Based Process Control Using Tensor Analysis".
    • Rajitha Meka from University of Texas at San Antonio for the paper entitled "An Active Learning Methodology for Efficient Estimation of Noisy Black-Box Functions using Gaussian Process Regression".
    • Xiao Huang from Texas A&M University for the paper entitled "Heterogeneous Information Learning in Large-Scale Networks".
    • Liyan Xie from Georgia Institute of Technology for the paper entitled "Optimal Sequential Subspace Change-point Detection".

    The finalists will make presentations on Monday 8:00 - 9:30 AM, October 21, 2019 at INFORMS. A panel of judges will select one best paper, and the results will be announced at the QSR business meeting.
