    THE UNIVERSITY:  California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) is known for award-winning programs, expert instruction, a diverse student body, and a choice of more than 100 career-focused fields of study.  The ten major buildings of the Hayward Hills campus, on 342 acres, contain over 150 classrooms and teaching laboratories, over 177 specialized instructional rooms, numerous computer labs and a library, which contains a collection of over one million items.     THE COLLEGE: CSUEB's College of Business and Economics (CBE) offers 6 degree programs (BS in Business Administration, MBA, BA and MA in Economics, MS in Accountancy, and MS in Business Analytics) spanning 4 departments: Accounting and Finance, Economics, Management, and Marketing. The CBE's distinguished faculty represents a multinational, multicultural diverse group providing a wealth of wide-range of global experiences and expertise in various fields. The College is AACSB accredited since 1973 and has been reaccredited in 2017 for the next five years. CBE has been also nationally ranked by the Princeton Review (2014).

    THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Management is staffed by more than 25 full-time, tenure-track faculty organized into the following interest groups: Human Resources Management (HRM), Information Technology Management (ITM), Operations & Supply Chain Management (OSCM), and Strategy & International Business. The position described here is for OSCM and Business Analytics. The MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) degree program is offered mainly by OSCM and ITM groups, and benefits from our proximity to a large number of vibrant high-tech companies that define the Bay Area as a tier one platform for information technology as well as business analytics.

    DUTIES OF THE POSITION:  We seek two individuals who have strong research and teaching interests in the subject areas relevant to Operations Management and Business Data Analytics. The teaching responsibilities include courses in operations/supply chain management and decision sciences as well as in the business analytics areas. The Operations Management courses include (but not limited to) service operations, quality and lean management, enterprise planning and control, global supply chain and logistics management, project management, and decision science. The courses in Business Analytics include (but not limited to) data analytics, data mining, optimization for data analytics, time series analytics, and machine learning.

    The successful applicants are expected to be excellent teachers, productive researchers, and helpful colleagues. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay can include courses at the Hayward, Concord and Online campuses as well as in off-campus programs in Oakland and San Ramon. Research responsibilities include engaging in related research and scholarly activities. In addition to teaching and research, all faculty assist the department with administrative and/or committee work as well as campus-wide committee responsibilities.

    RANK AND SALARY:  Two full-time, tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Availability of position is subject to budgetary authorization.

    DATE OF APPOINTMENT:  Fall Semester of 2019.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Required: (1) an earned doctorate in Operations Management, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Data Science, Decision Science or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution; the doctorate must be conferred no later than the effective date of appointment; (2) ability or experience in teaching, mentoring, research or community service that prepares the successful candidate(s) to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence; (3) a demonstrated record of scholarly activities; (4) a demonstrated record of teaching excellence in designated areas;  and (5) strong communication skills.  Desirable: professional experience in operations/supply chain management and business data analytics.
