Subject: IIASA Job Opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar

The Advanced Systems Analysis (ASA) Program at IIASA is offering a postdoctoral position working with data-driven multi-layer network approaches to quantify systemic risk and resilience.

    We are searching for:

An excellent early stage scientist with a PhD or equivalent in physics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or related fields. Ideally, experience working with financial network data and agent based models with knowledge of network analysis, data mining, and large-scale agent based models. We expect good programming skills and experience, and a critical, open-minded, entrepreneurial, and collaborative spirit.

    We offer:

A fully funded postdoctoral position based at IIASA in Laxenburg, Austria. The research group working on the project includes also scientists from the Complexity Science Hub Vienna (CSHV), Austria. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with researchers at IIASA and CSHV and will have the opportunity to work on the empirical analysis of unique financial data in order to understand the origin and spreading of systemic risk on multi-layer networks and the emergence of resilience. A further aim in the group is the development of large-scale agent-based simulation models, which the candidate would also be involved in.

Full details about the opportunity, our further requirements and appointment terms can be found here.

Duties will be carried out at the IIASA premises in Laxenburg, Austria.

Please assist us in soliciting as many suitable applications as possible by distributing this information to all potentially interested parties.
