    The department seeks applications from individuals able to apply systems methods to multiple civil engineering infrastructure systems.  The successful applicant will use methods such as data analytics, decision analysis, operations research, network analysis, risk analysis, economic analysis, social and organizational analysis, complex systems, and systems modelling. The department recognises the need for expertise in risk, resilience, complexity, economics, and smart and connected information systems.  Expertise will be applied to diverse challenges in climate change; sustainable energy systems and resource management; building information and service systems; infrastructure systems modelling and performance assessment; and asset planning and management.

    Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline and have a demonstrated record of published research in civil engineering systems as defined above.  The successful candidate will have a commitment to excellence in teaching of core courses relevant to civil engineering systems at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and will be expected to establish a vigorous research programme.
