    Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Operations / Supply Chain Management

    Kuehne Logistics University (KLU) in Hamburg, Germany, one of Germany's top research-based private business schools, invites applications for one or more positions as Assistant Professor in Operations / Supply Chain Management (tenure-track) for a start in September 2021. We are open to any research area within Operations Management that would further strengthen KLU's academic position, including emphasis on any relevant functional area, including for example sourcing, supply chain management, warehousing, and transport. We are particularly interested in candidates with an interest in sustainability (in the broadest sense, and including matters like social responsibility, humanitarian operations and global health). The final denomination of the position will be defined in line with the interests of the successful applicant. The position is a full-time appointment.

    The assistant professor will excel by conducting original and impactful research in her chosen area, publish this research in the best management journals, such as those in the FT50 list, and create impact with this research in the business or wider societal community. Next to that, the assistant professor in operations management is expected to teach. Teaching will be primarily in the domains of (green) logistics, operations management, operations research, sourcing and/or supply chain management. Teaching is conducted in all of our programs: undergraduate, Master, PhD, and executive. Like other faculty, the professor will also take part in industry outreach and university service activities.

    Applicants need to have completed a PhD in operations management, operations research, industrial engineering, or a related discipline.

    Teaching load is attractive, with about three quarter-length courses as the nominal load, and may include teaching at the undergraduate, master and PhD level, as well as executive education. Language of instruction is English.
