Fafnir Lab, a fintech startup based in Detroit, and an INFORMS member, is seeking Universities and Research Institutions to discuss potential partnerships for NSF's National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Institutes program (Program Solicitation NSF 20-503).

    https://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=505686&org=NSF

NSF lists eligible applicants as: a) Institutions of Higher Education or b) Non-profit, non-academic organizations.  I would like to learn which institutions are considering establishing an AI Research Institute under this program and to discuss ways we could work together.

Fafnir's interest in AI research centers on NSF's categories Theme 1: Trustworthy AI and Theme 2: Foundations of Machine Learning.

Fafnir's own work pursues both Foundational Research and Use-Inspired Research in the domain of financial services.

Fafnir is open to serving as Partner Organization and/or Project Personnel on the proposal.

Please contact me directly at james@fafnirlab.com.  I will be at the Annual Meeting on Oct. 21-22 and would be happy to discuss in person.

    Sincerely,

    James Yagley
