Christopher Tang is University Distinguished Professor and the holder of the Edward W. Carter Chair in Business Administration at the UCLA Anderson School. In 2011, he received two lifetime fellow awards – one from the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) and the other from the Institute of Operations and Management Sciences (INFORMS). He has served as Chairman and Senior Associate Dean at UCLA Anderson (1998-2002), Dean of the National University Singapore Business School (2002-2004), and different roles at various universities, government agencies, professional societies, multi-national firms, and public service organizations. After serving as President of Production and Operations Management Society (2013-2014), he has been elected to be the Editor-in-Chief of Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (2015-2017) by INFORMS.
Recognized as a leading scholar in global supply chain management, Chris has published 5 academic books and over 100 research articles in various leading academic journals, as well as articles in Sloan Management Review, California Management Review, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and The Guardian. He is the recipient of over 10 teaching and research awards including UCLA (University-wide) Best Teaching Award in 2012, and the Neidorf Best Instructor of the decade in 1999.
Professor Tang received his B.Sc. (First class honours) from King’s College, London, M.A., M.Phil, and PhD from Yale University.
