Eighth Annual MIF Student Poster Competition
Call For Posters


The INFORMS MIF is pleased to announce a call for posters to be presented during the MIF reception at the INFORMS 2019 conference. The competition is open to students who are MIF members. First place winner will receive an honorarium and a certificate. Honorable Mentions will each receive a certificate.

Important Dates:
  • July 1, 2019: Abstract due;
  • July 31, 2019: Abstract acceptance notification and further information will be made available;
  • September 20, 2019: Poster PDF submission. Submissions received prior September 1st may request to receive preliminary feedback; and
  • October 20, 2019: Poster session and judging.
Details:
  • The abstract should be 500 characters maximum (approximately 50 words), the title of the abstract - 100 characters maximum. This may be an original abstract or the same abstract as submitted for the INFORMS General or Focused Interactive sessions.
  • Eligibility requirements: Submissions may be made by student INFORMS members, the student must be the lead author and a MIF member, and the submitted poster must not have won an award at any previous INFORMS competitions.
  • Poster presenters will be limited to one submission.
  • To enter: Please email a document with the following information to mif.informs@gmail.com: The entrant and all co-authors' names, current affiliations, email addresses, and phone numbers; Poster title and Abstract; A statement that all eligibility requirements have been met.
  • A limited number of travel scholarships to the INFORMS conference will be available for participants of the MIF poster session. Eligibility for travel grants is restricted to US Citizens from underrepresented groups.
