Over a two year period, the authors of the report, all distinguished INFORMS members, were invited by NSF to prepare a report on the role that Operations Research may play in advancing knowledge to overcome the engineering grand challenges. This report is now ready for discussion within the INFORMS community, and others who might have an interest in the grand challenges themselves.
