    Faculty Position

     

    The Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering faculty at Kansas State University is growing.  We seek talented and motivated candidates to fill a faculty position that will begin August 2018.  Tenure, rank, and salary will be based on the candidate's qualifications and accomplishments.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a closely related field, a strong publication record, a commitment to research and teaching excellence, and the potential to develop a vigorous extramurally-funded research program. Outstanding candidates will be considered for an endowed position. Department research strengths and priorities include engineering analytics, advanced manufacturing processes, product and process innovation, logistics, healthcare systems, and engineering education.  The department is particularly interested in applicants who complement or extend these areas.

     

    The College of Engineering at Kansas State University is undergoing rapid expansion and is adding 35 additional faculty positions over a five year time period.  The College of Engineering is the largest and most comprehensive engineering college in Kansas, with over 4300 undergraduate and graduate students. The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, one of eight departments within the college, has 14 faculty members and approximately 340 undergraduate and graduate students. The department has a tradition of excellence in research and education.  More department information is available at  http://www.imse.ksu.edu/  Research expenditures exceeded two million in CY 2016.  The department values and supports interdisciplinary research, and the successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with researchers at the Advanced Manufacturing Institute in the department, the University Transportation Center, the Biosecurity Research Institute, the Center for Risk Management Education and Research, and others.
