Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) at Iowa State University invites nominations and applications for a faculty position in the broad area of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering.  Candidates with expertise in Engineering Statistics/Data Science, Advanced Manufacturing, or Complex Systems Engineering are preferred.  An earned Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field by the appointment start date is required. Candidates will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses, establish and sustain strong research programs in their area of expertise, act as adviser to graduate students and undergraduate student research, and provide service to the department, college, and university.

The IMSE department has a history of excellence in advanced manufacturing, classical engineering statistics (including reliability, experimental design and analysis, statistical metrology, and process control), operations research and analytics, human factors and ergonomics, systems engineering and engineering management.  It has collaborations in these areas across the Engineering College and University. 

Iowa State University is a comprehensive, land grant, Carnegie Foundation Doctoral/Research University-Extensive, a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), and ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top public universities in the nation.  Over 36,000 students are enrolled. The College of Engineering comprises eight departments with 230+ faculty members and annual research expenditures exceeding $94 million. Iowa State's nearly 2,000 acre, park-like campus is located in the progressive community of Ames, Iowa and was recently voted the best college town in the nation.
