The Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department of the University of Toronto is inviting applications for a Research Associate position in healthcare supply chain management and analytics. The successful candidate will contribute to the project "Quantitative Metrics and Methods for Preoperative Supply Chain Management" supervised by co-principle investigators Michael Carter, Chi-Guhn Lee, and Vahid Sarhangian. The goal of the project is to develop innovative performance metrics as well as data-driven models and methods for improving procurement decisions, operations, and supply chain management practices related to surgical supplies at hospitals. The project will be conducted in collaboration with two large hospitals in Ontario and utilizing their data.
The responsibilities of the research associate will include coordinating research activities, preparing reports and presentations, meeting with hospital partners, and supervising graduate students.
Qualifications:
Education
A PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Operations Management, or related fields.
Experience
Demonstrated experience in managing healthcare and/or supply chain management related projects. Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and data analytic methods. Excellence in leadership, teamwork and communication. Excellent writing and communications skills.
Travel:
From time to time (inside the province)
