    Institute for Quality and Reliability

    Tsinghua University, China

We are searching globally for talented postdoc researcher to participate in the solution to the challenging problem of critical infrastructure (e.g. high-speed rail (HSR)) maintenance scheduling in China.

Critical infrastructures (CIs) such as HSR has undergone rapid development in China in recent years. The operating performance and other technical indicators have been continuously improved, meanwhile, this renders the availability of CIs increasingly important. CI availability is directly related to its reliability and maintainability and has a significant impact on its safety, economy, and sustainability. Chinese CIs, such as HSR and nuclear power plants, have several years of operating experience and accumulated a large amount of first-hand data with wide coverage, which serves as a good foundation for big-data-driven theoretical research on its maintenance. On the other hand, the complex and dynamic natures of CI big-data pose challenges to the new theoretical studies. This project will stand on the cutting-edge of maintenance theories, make use of CI big-data, focus on the latest problems and challenges raised from CI, and then conduct theoretical innovation and empirical investigation.

The Institute for Quality and Reliability (IQR) was established by Tsinghua University and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) of the P. R. China, aiming to promote world-class theoretical and empirical research and talent cultivation in quality and reliability domains. Within the great blueprint of 'Made in China 2025', IQR's ultimate goal is to provide strong support for the enhancement of the quality of Chinese products.
