    The Department of Business Information Technology in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the assistant, associate or full professor level beginning August 2018. The Business Information Technology major includes degree options in Decision Support Systems (DSS) and Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSM). Candidates should have an appropriate academic background and expertise to teach courses in one (or both) of these two degree options. Qualifications include a doctorate in operations and supply chain management (OSM), information technology (IT), or a closely related field, and evidence of prior teaching experience in one of these areas. In addition to strong evidence of teaching ability, a successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in research. Faculty members in the Pamplin College of Business are expected to pursue an active research program, resulting in publications in the leading research journals in their academic field of expertise. In addition to a strong research program and undergraduate and graduate teaching, faculty members are expected to engage in departmental, college, and university service activities. Although applicants with OSM or IT academic expertise and research focus are invited, preference will be given to outstanding applicants in operations and supply chain management (OSM).
