The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Human Factors Engineering beginning August 2018. We are specifically interested in candidates with research that has broad societal implications (e.g., improving healthcare delivery and improving transportation network design and operation). Collaborative and interdisciplinary opportunities exist both within ISE and HWCOE and across UF, including University of Florida Transportation Institute, Human-Centered Computing @ UF, University of Florida Informatics Institute, Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and UF Health.

UF ISE offers B.S., M.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. It has over 500 undergraduate students and 150 graduate students. Individuals joining ISE will discover many opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary work across campus and will find a strong dedication to excellence in research and education. More information about the department can be found at http://www.ise.ufl.edu/. The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is currently implementing a major expansion of its faculty and is investing in state-of-the-art facilities to support their research and to enhance engineering education delivery. As part of this expansion plan, the college will reach 300 faculty members in the near future. For more information about these initiatives, please visit http://eng.ufl.edu.

The Department of ISE welcomes applications from individuals with strong backgrounds who hold a doctorate in ISE or in any related discipline. It is desirable that the applicant has at least one degree in engineering. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to research and educational programs, including developing and sustaining externally-funded, interdisciplinary research programs, maintaining a strong publication record, supervising graduate students, and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in industrial and systems engineering.
