    THE COLLEGE/ DEPARTMENT: The Saunders College of Business is served by 54 full-time faculty members who value collegiality and team work.  The Saunders College is accredited by AACSB International and offers bachelors' degrees in business administration with seven different majors. Graduate programs include MBA, Executive MBA, and Masters programs.  Saunders is ranked in the top 100 by US News and World Report.  The Supply Chain Management (SCM) program will join the department housing our nationally-ranked Management Information Systems and Marketing programs. Management Information Systems, within the Saunders College of Business at RIT is ranked #10 nationally by USA Today, while RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering has been ranked recently among "The World's Best Engineering Schools." The Program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship was ranked as one of the most innovative programs in the world by Business Week.  The Albert J. Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship enhances entrepreneurship activities, including the RIT Venture Creations Incubator.
     
    The objective of the newly-launched Supply Chain Management B.S. degree program is to provide students with a background in areas commonly needed to support SCM roles, such as: business strategy, information systems, lean/quality management, customer service, purchasing, negotiations, contracts, forecasting, inventory management, logistics, project management etc.
     
    This program has two unique features: (1) The program draws upon resources from our highly- regarded business and engineering schools. (2) The program offers enhanced analytical and information systems skills to increase students' preparation and marketability.
     
    The curricula include required coursework Supply Chain Management Fundamentals, Managing Supplier Relations, Supply Chain Management Capstone, Enterprise Systems, Database Management Systems, and Lean Six Sigma Fundamentals.

    Detailed Job Description

    The Saunders College of Business invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate level in Supply Chain Management.  Responsibilities include supporting the deployment of a major in Supply Chain Management (SCM) by developing and teaching courses in the field, as well as conducting high quality scholarly research in SCM. The Saunders College values collegial individuals who are excellent communicators, innovative teachers, and active researchers.     Required Minimum Qualifications

    • Qualified candidates should hold a Ph.D. or D.B.A. with a focus in Supply Chain Management or related fields, from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited institution. For rank of Assistant Professor, candidates may be ABD with expected completion by December 2018. 
    • The candidate's interests and expertise should align with our approved Supply Chain Management program curricula. The new hire will play an integral role in defining the direction of this program and developing new courses of interest. The successful candidate will help to build and grow this exciting new program.
    • Candidates must have strong research skills and potential for scholarly research as demonstrated by publications in peer reviewed journals, and/or academic conference proceedings.
    • Candidates should also have a demonstrated ability to teach effectively. 
    • For rank of Associate Professor, candidates must have a proven record of scholarly research and evidence of teaching excellence and strong service experience. 
    • All candidates should have a willingness to interact with business community and an ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college's continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
