    We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with demonstrated research and teaching potential in areas such as Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, Manufacturing/Service Operations Management, Sustainability, Supply Chain information technologies, Business and Data analytics, and Data-Driven Decision Making. The minimum requirements for this position include:

    • PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a comparable domain. Doctoral students near completion of their degrees will also be considered.
    • Ability to conduct high-quality academic research, shown through, e.g., an established record of publications in leading scientific journals.
    • Ability and desire to teach bachelor and master courses and supervise students, with demonstrable experience and didactic qualities.
    • Excellent mastering of the English language and good communication skills.
    Applicants working at the interface of Operations Research and Information Systems, and with special interest in Stochastic or Mathematical Optimization, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics as well as the application of optimization methods to practical problems and applications, are encouraged to apply. You also have affinity with and preferably experience in working in a multidisciplinary environment. You are comfortable with applying sophisticated Operations Research techniques to practical problems, and have a strong entrepreneurial and innovative spirit. We are looking for a person with excellent communication and language skills and the ability and eagerness to be involved in commissioned research. Possession of the UTQ (University Teaching Qualification) or its equivalent is preferred; otherwise the University will fully support you in obtaining your UTQ within a (maximum) period of 3 years.
