    ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

    Two Assistant Professor Positions

    (Position Number #'s 00031006; 00050220)

     

    The Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering (EMSE) at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly the University of Missouri - Rolla) invites applications for two full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors in the general areas of:

    -       Decision Analytics (Position #00031006).  Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, energy management, healthcare, and transportation management systems. This proposed hire will capitalize on strengths related to the management of "big data".

    -       Infrastructure Systems Management (Position #00050220). We particularly seek candidates with backgrounds in infrastructure management and mixed-methods applied complex system modeling.  The successful candidate should have a strong research background in modeling of technical systems, including design of interdependent systems. This hire will capitalize on strengths related to the management and design of critical infrastructure systems.

    The successful candidates will demonstrate the potential to establish and grow a strong research program and will participate in all aspects of the Department's mission, which includes research, teaching and service. The candidates should have a PhD in engineering management, systems engineering, or a related field and be positioned to collaborate with department and campus faculty.

    The department offers BS, MS, and PhD Degrees in Engineering Management and MS and PhD degrees in Systems Engineering and is solely housing in the Engineering Management Building, with significant space for the current 14 faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students. The department maintains an active research program with grants from funding sources such as the USDOE, USDoD, and USDOT. Missouri S&T is one of the nation's leading research universities. Located about 100 miles west of St. Louis in the community of Rolla, Missouri S&T is an accessible, safe and friendly campus surrounded by Ozarks scenery. Missouri S&T offers degrees in engineering, the sciences, liberal arts, humanities and business, with master's and Ph.D. programs available in many of the science and engineering programs and master's degrees in biological sciences, business administration and technical communication.     Candidates should include the following with their letter of application: current curriculum vitae, statement of teaching interests, statement of research plans including areas of potential collaboration with other campus faculty, statement on creating equity and inclusion, and names and contact information for at least three references.
