We have an open position as a post-doctoral researcher in the Industrial Optimization Group at the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. We hope to get applications as soon as possible. The position is funded by the project of the Academy of Finland which focuses on developing an open source software framework DESDEO of interactive methods for multiobjective optimization. The position is filled from January 1, 2018 till August 31, 2019.

The post-doctoral researcher  is expected to develop new hybrid methods including elements of interactive and evolutionary methods. The aim is to combine strengths of different approaches in order to develop new, more efficient methods for computationally demanding problems. One can also further elaborate methods developed in the group and utilize surrogate modeling and machine learning tools. Appropriate knowledge of multiobjective optimization and programming skills as well as written and spoken English skills are expected.
