Postdoctoral position in Mixed Integer Linear Programming for
Water Resource Management at the University of California, Davis
A postdoctoral position is available starting January 1, 2018 in applied
and computational mixed integer linear programming (MILP) and applications
in water resource management. The candidate is expected to closely work
with a group of computational scientists and water resources management
engineers. The candidate's responsibilities include the analysis and
development of real-world MILP models, performance tuning of open
source mixed integer solvers, and the development of a high
performance implementation for multi-core computers.
Experience in MILP, familiarity with the COIN-OR solvers (Cbc, CLP),
Java programming including Java Native Interface (JNI), and the
principles of parallel computing on multi-core machines are expected.
The initial appointment is for one year, and the renewal of the
appointment in the following years is contingent upon excellent
performance and the renewal of contracts. A competitive salary
based on the applicant's qualifications and experience will be offered.
The position is available starting January 1, 2018 and will be filled
as soon as a suitable candidate is identified. The candidate should have
