    The Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Business Analytics in its AACSB-accredited program. This full-time position has a 9-month service period and begins September 2018 (Autumn Quarter). A successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of teaching and research competence in Business Analytics. Candidates from the Management Information Systems/Technology, Operations Management, Management Science, Marketing, Decision Science and other domains relevant to business analytics are encouraged to apply, provided they have a strong focus in data analytics. Strong candidates will demonstrate outstanding research capabilities, have an active research program, be committed to effective teaching, have an interest and ability to teach and research across disciplines and possess a desire to be an integral member of a team of faculty and staff that are committed to excellence. We seek candidates that will contribute as engaged researchers and colleagues to serve our growing school and campus.

     

    Teaching qualifications and/or interests should include undergraduate and graduate courses in several of the following areas: business intelligence & analytics, data/text mining, database management, business process management, analytical decision making and social media analytics. Applicants must have a doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. Management Information Systems/Technology, Operations Management, Management Science, Marketing, or Decision Science)

    The Milgard School of Business, named in recognition of a multi-million dollar gift from the Milgard family, enjoys strong relationships with businesses and the South Puget Sound community. The School's Center for Leadership and Social Responsibility and Center for Information Based Management offer opportunities for teaching, research and community outreach related to its mission. The AACSB-accredited Milgard School currently has more than 650 students in its undergraduate, MBA, Masters in Accounting (MAcc) and Masters in Cybersecurity and Leadership (MCL) programs, and is in the process of developing a new Master of Science in Business Analytics program.
