John M. Harris, Ph.D. - President
John is a planning and analysis professional with over 10 years of industry experience applying an advanced analytical and strategic thinking skill set to optimize resources and improve processes. He has managed and participated in several collaborative research projects between industry and academia. His work as an individual contributor in the areas of stochastic and asset optimization modeling has lead to three corporate patent applications in the airline and energy utility space. He currently leads the HR Analytics and Reporting team at Southern Company. Since 2000, he has been an Adjunct Professor of Industrial Engineering at Clemson University.
The former National Science Foundation Fellow graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College (MN) with a B.A. in Mathematics, Miami University (OH) with a M.S. in Mathematics with an option in Operations Research, and Clemson University (SC) with a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. While at Gustavus, John was a 4-year letterman and 2-year starter in football.
John and his wife, Tondra, have been married for over 12 years and have two daughters. His personal interests include golf, non-fiction literature and fishing with friends.
Utku Yildrim, Ph.D. - Treasurer
Dr. Yildirim develops cutting-edge pricing and revenue management solutions at Prorize, a consulting firm specializes in advanced analytics for price optimization. Prior to joining Prorize, he was a member of the Revenue and Profit Management Department at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, where he developed and deployed enterprise-wide revenue management solutions. He built models and generated related analytics for a variety of business problems including, but not limited to, merchandise pricing, hotel and restaurant revenue management, internet advertisement inventory and revenue management. He is known in professional circles as a leading expert in applied probability, queuing theory, stochastic optimization and revenue management. He earned his Ph.D. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.
